Matt slowly staggered left and right as he carried Aran. Blood was dripping onto the ground as he walked and his clothes were entirely soaked with her blood. People watched in amazement and disgustment, although some with compassion. The compassionate ones werent about to help though. Matt was about to faint from exhaustion.
"Why does the forest have to be so huge....."
He then looked down and saw Aran dozing off again.
"No! Aran!"
He shook her softly.
"Stay awake! The worse thing for loss of blood is to fall asleep! You must hold on!"
Matt finally reached a huge building that appeared to be a hospital. He walked upto the door and kicked it open so forcefully it fell down. He then stumbled into the room careful not to bump Aran's head on the door frame.
"HELP! I NEED A DOCTOR NOW!"
A few nurses rushed up and were about to try to take her, then looked at the bloodiness and simply pointed to a room down the hall. Matt carried her to the room and laid her on the table as a doctor rushed in to fix her wounds. Matt then collapsed into a chair utterly exhausted. He put his face into his hands.
"Ugh...what a day....."

"Stay awake! The worse thing for loss of blood is to fall asleep! You must hold on!"
"HELP! I NEED A DOCTOR NOW!"
"We'll be right with you."
"Hold on."
"I need a blood transfusion, fast!"
"We're losing her."
"Somebody call Dr. Richards."
"We need a mage, not a doctor!"
"Then get Celene, as well."
As she seemed to drift along the border of unconsciousness, several voices rang out in Aranôlëien's mind. She felt the burn of white magics against her skin and mentally winced in pain. She was still too weak to be able to manage any motion of protest, either physical or vocal. The conversations taking place above her were too fast, too loud to actually try to keep track of.
Where's Matt? Somebody help him too . . .
She was now forever in his debt. Which was a problem considering he was supposed to be her archrival . . . but at the same time, she still loved him. It was all too complicated . . . too complex to even try to begin to comprehend.
She groaned slightly as somebody took her left hand and began bandaging it. Waves of pain were pulsing through her body, with an intensity that would make a lesser being cry. But she was much too weak to cry. She could do that later, if need be.
All that mattered was that she was there . . . and that she tried her hardest to remain alive. Think of it . . . an immortal battling for her life. Against herself.

The hustle and bustle of the doctors and mages rushed past Matt as he sat there exhausted. He pulled his head out of his hands and looked up at one of the nurses.
"T-thank......"
He trailed off as he fainted from exhaustion. A nurse rushed over and got some guys to lift him up on the bed next to the one Aran was laying on.
"Let him rest....he is just tired...he has probably had a huge day. I mean look at her...and he doesn't have one wound on his whole body. He must have fought very hard to do that."
Matt curled up into a ball and slept away.

((Time jump to avoid boredom.))
Finally, after what seemed like hours of people touching her and poking her and yelling orders at one another, the hustle and bustle slowed down and all but one doctor left. From what she had managed to overhear, she assumed that he was Dr. Richards. He was standing at the foot of her bed, scribbling on a pad and saying ‘Hmm’ a lot.
It was almost disconcerting, but then . . . lying in a bed with white sheets soaked in your own blood wasn’t the most soothing thing in the whole world, either. She was feeling more conscious that she had been feeling about two hours ago, but she was still incredibly exhausted. She tiredly reached her hand across her stomach, to find that the bleeding had finally been stopped, though whether the magic helped or not, she wasn’t sure. She then gently set the pendant on the nightstand right next to her and allowed herself to drift off.
Thank Matt tomorrow. First thing . . .
She had been asleep for no more than twenty minutes when she was awakened by a nurse who came into her room in order to change her bed sheets, for ‘sanitary reasons’. With a sigh, she allowed herself to be led into the bathroom, where nurses assisted her out of her own clothes and into a pale yellow nightgown, and was told that tomorrow, if she was up for it, she would be given a bath.
She didn’t have enough energy left to make much of an acknowledgment to this statement, so she just nodded in agreement and waited for the people to finish up with her sheets before crawling into bed and returning to her deep slumber.

As all this was happening on the other side of the curtain dividing the room, Matt was tossing and turning in his bed. A doctor came in to see if he was ok because of the sounds of pain he was making. The doctor walked up to him and touched his shoulder.
"A-are you alright?"
Matt's eyes shot open and he flew out of the bed wrapping one hand around the doctor's neck slamming him into a wall. With the other hand he pulled out his gunblade and held it at the man's face. All this happened in a split second. Matt then saw the fear on the man's face and lowered his weapon and released his hold on the man. He quickly put his weapon away. The doctor gasped for air for a bit. Matt simply looked at the man.
"S-sorry...don't sneak up on me like that....."
The doctor looked at Matt like he was crazy and held up a hand and nodded signifying that it was ok. He then pointed to Matt's weapon.
"S-s-sir? That is not allowed on the premesis of the hospital."
Matt just looked at the doctor coldly. The doctor then quickly nodded and turned and walked out of the room as quickly as posible while saying,
"Let's just say I never saw it...."
Matt sighed and stretched. He went into a bathroom in the room and washed his face and slicked his hair back to the regular way he usually had it. He then walked over to where Aran's nurse was.
"How is she?"
The nurse looked up at him with big eyes. "She should be fine...she is resting now though." The nurse then smiled at him and giggled. "So...is she your girlfriend?"
Matt smiled and scratched his head.
"Actually...shes the person trying to kill me."
The nurses face turned to horror and then anger. "YOU MEAN YOU DID THIS TO HER!!!" The lady looked like she was about to kill him.
Matt backed up waving his hands in front of her.
"Woah woah woah! Why would I do such a thing as that? I was trying to save her from the thing that was doing that to her. It was controlling her. Geez...chill..."
The nurse suddenly turned back to her congenial self. "Oh! Well she definately got a good catch!" The nurse then slapped him on the arm.
Matt just sorta looked at her strangely.
"Uhh...right...is she awake?"

"Yeah," Aranôlëien answered softly. After a good seven hours of sleep, she found that her conscious was eating away at her too much and that sleep wouldn't return. She felt so horrible for all that she had put Matt through, and the fact that he had actually persevered and not given up on her, even after so long . . .
Tears filled her eyes, and she quickly blinked them back. She would readily admit that she had missed him. In her hours of deepest despair and loneliness, she would dwell on the memory of his touch . . . the simple feeling of his hand against her cheek, and then she would shake herself and try to remember that he needed to be killed . . . but he still saved her . . .
She bit her lip and tried to get herself back under control again. Slowly, she rolled over to face Matt, and the nurse scurried over to a corner to continue scribbling on the pad she was carrying. A lock of stringy, black hair fell into her eyes, and she brushed it away slowly, pushing it into place behind her ear.
“I don’t know what to say. I’m so sorry. And thank you . . .” her voice trailed off as she looked sorrowfully into his eyes. Her stomach gave a sudden throb of pain and she winced and then turned her head away from Matt. He didn’t deserve to feel any guilt or any pain for her condition. Her hand went to her stomach and she pressed against it, realizing that she had lost quite a bit of weight since the last time she was . . . in her right mind. Underneath the various metal protections and the cloak, it was hard to notice, but now it was very evident.
Oh great. Shopping spree . . .
“I don’t deserve to have someone as kind as you here for me. It’s alright if you feel okay now and are ready to leave. Really.”

Matt cocked his head and looked at her compassionately. He then put up his hands and shook his head.
"Shh...there is no need to thank me...You know as well as me that we went in this together. I was there when it started....I had to be there in the end!!!"
He smiled at her, although it was hard to keep it as she winced. He walked up to the side of the bed and brushed a lock of hair that had falled down in her face back behind her ear.
"You are in no condition to leave....and I can't just leave you here. I carried you for miles! For me to simply leave would be pointles....and plus, my place is here with you."
He looked at the hair he just brushed back. He got a puzzled look on his face.
"W-wasn't your hair blonde before? ....."
He then thought a bit longer.
"Yeah it was! Wow...I really like it better now. Not that I am happy about what happened to you. But this look is much more cool....and far more beautiful...not that you werent before. Ugh I'm stumbling over my words. You know what I mean."

My place is here with you.
This was the only part of Matt?s speech which she really heard. Right next to her . . . She felt so safe, so loved, and yet, she knew that she did not deserve and could not accept this feeling from him. He had saved her life when she had been trying to murder him . . . it didn?t make any sense. And such is the goodness in the human spirit. It never makes a lick of sense, and yet, it is an anomaly unto itself in that it both exists and remains in existence without anything to feed on except for itself. Simply put: a paradox. For there is no chastising like being helped.
A soft smile lit the features on Aranôlëien?s face and she nodded gently. After trying to figure out exactly what it was that gave her the right to still be there, she felt even more confused than she was in the first place. She decided to move on. ?Yeah, it used to be blonde . . . I don?t really know what happened. I wonder if it will go back . . .?
She shifted weight slightly, trying to find a position which didn?t cause her stomach quite as much pain. She turned to Matt and with a concerned note in her voice she asked, ?How about you? Are you feeling okay? Shouldn?t you be resting? Here.? She indicated a place on her bed where he could sit if he so desired.

Matt smiled at Aran and sat down still looking at her.
"Hey I'm fine! You know me...a good night sleep and I am good as new! ....well usually hehehe. I was just tired from carrying you thats all. It wasnt like I was fighting....I was kinda just talkign to that spirit."
As he said spirit the sword vibrated a bit. He kinda fidgeted but pretended not to notice. He then looked around. He pulled at his collar.
"Ugh...this place is so stuffy...When do you get out of here?"
He laughed nervously not trying to draw attention to the sword. He put his finger on it and did a small burst of white magic and it stopped as quickly as it had started.

She closed her eyes and moved her head so she was facing the ceiling. "I don't know, really," she said, trying to remember if any of the doctors had said anything to her about it.
"Maybe there's somebody that we could ask? I really think that I'll be fine on my own now that my guts aren't in danger of spilling out. Heh . . ." she opened her eyes again and looked at Matt. He motioned his hand and again, she felt the painful stinging of white magic being preformed around her. Smiling though it pained her even more to do so, she suddenly redirected her attention to the nurse in the corner, who had given a very quiet, but pronounced laugh.
"Um . . . yes? Do you have my charts? When will I be released?"
"Well," the nurse said, flipping through a few papers inside her clipboard, "it looks as if we've got you scheduled for a few more weeks of intensive therapy."
"WEEKS?!" Aranôlëien exclaimed, "I think not." She looked back up at Matt. "Another night," she said to the nurse, "and a bath, and then I will be just fine."
"I think you will stay until we see you are fit to be released," came the snappy retort. Aranôlëien was really starting to dislike this woman.
"Okay," she replied, “you just keep on thinking that."
"I'm going to go get Dr. Michael. You seem in good enough condition for a good scrubbing." There was a very notable distaste in her voice, and she didn't bother to close the door gently. Aranôlëien closed her eyes as a dull pain throbbed from the back of her head at the noise, and then she opened them again and looked up at Matt. She placed her hand over his in a very gentle, loving manner, and a soft smile appeared on her face.

Matt just kind of looked at the nurse strangely and then smiled at Aran. He then looked around confused and scratched his head.
"Uh....aren't nurses supposed to be all congeneal? Isn't that part of the job? People are dying you have to be nice to them! Geez! Oh well...."
Matt stood up and walked over to the window and tried to open it...but then realized they can't open.
"What the heck? I guess they dont want pollution to get in. Don't they know you are an elf? Elves are like nature freaks...they need windows open!"
Matt pulled out his gunblade and shot at the window. A loud bang rang out followed by the sound of shattering glass. Matt then smiled and blew away the smoke and then put it away. Suddenly the alarm systems went off. He quickly looked side to side anxiously.
"Uh....this isn't good is it?"

"Matt? Are you sure that you're feeling alright? You're acting a little . . . strange. And besides, I'm sure that they are trying to provide foresty stuff for me. I mean, look at this plant!" she motioned to a potted plant sitting on her bedside table, right next to the pendant.
Then the sirens started sounding. Her face blanched and her eyes widened as she bit her lip with angst. ((Meh . . .)) “Well . . . um . . . I’m feeling up for a good run, how about you?”
She smiled playfully and then realized that she may be speaking the truth. She swung her legs over the side of the bed and grabbed the necklace, quickly fastening it around her neck. She took a deep breath and pushed herself off the bed, crossing over to her pile of clothes to try and see if there was anything valuable in there which she may want to keep for future use. With a slight wince, she looked over at Matt. “I hear footsteps. Do you want to wait this out or leave?”

Matt looked at her in amazement as she stood. He then grinned widely.
"Hehehe just like old times! Let's rock!"
He then walked peacefully out the door listening as security guards surrounded him. He took out two quickly with his fist and then the other two with his feet. He then continued walking on as if nothing had happened. He offered his hand to Aran as he saw doors closing up ahead.
"We are going to have to run for it! They are locking down the hospital!"
...why would they do that...its not like this is a bank or anything....

She took his hand as well as a deep breath and, in the half second of stillness, she turned to him and said, “Let’s rock.”
Security guards were coming out of all sorts of odd little corridors and chasing after them. Really . . . it was just a window . . . but if she was going to avoid several weeks of intensive therapy then she may as well get out when she had the opportunity. She squeezed Matt’s hand gentle and they began to run down the corridor together. The door was closing in front of them and her heart was pounding inside her chest, not to mention the pain from her partially healed wound on her stomach, but now was not the time to fret about it. The door was closing faster and faster and she was trying her hardest to keep up the pace, and in the final wind, she kicked in every ounce of energy that she had.
It turned out to be just enough. They were out and safe. She stopped and leaned on her knees, huffing slightly. She turned to face Matt and then suddenly just burst out into uncontrolled laughter.
"For a window . . ." was all she could get out between bouts of giggles.

Matt was laughing hard he then fell to the ground pulling Aran down with him accidently. She fell right on top of him. Matt didnt seem to mind.
"Ugh...why does a hospital have such security....oh well we are out now...now where do we go to."
He then looked over at a security camera outside the hospital and shook his fist at it. He then gave it a thumbs up sign.
"Take that!"
He then continued laughing but he didn't know why. The sword was also vibrating a bit again. It felt heavy on his belt. He had to destroy it soon.
