As DarkUmbra wandered through the swampland wondering what to do with him self since his exile, he came upon an area over run with vines, trees dead and alive, and swamp folliage. So thick were the vines that barely a flicker of light could get through. It seemed to wall an area off completely, however looked to be open in the center.
[glow=purple,2,300]"Ahh, perfect."[/glow] He said to himself creating a small opening in the wall of sorts with a knife made of shadows. [glow=gold,2,300]Finally a location where i will not be shuned in horror from all whom i meet, and can safely be concealed, even in mid-day without the aid of my Shadow Shroud.[/glow] And as he entered and his shroud ceased to be, he instantly began to regain his energy from the lack of light.
Tired from being run out of every town or city he had journeyed to, he hoped that no one would find him. However he was not sure what he was to do with his time now that he was no longer a part of the shadow-folk elite and could no longer inhabit any civilized area.
So in the darkness and gloom (which he usually loves) he sat.

Prokhorov heard him as he passed by on the same trail, a minute or two later. He looked into the thicket, but it was too dark to see anything.
I think someone's in there.
Prokhorov felt in his pocket.
A moment later there was no visible person on the trail.

[glow=gold,2,300]There's someone out there! I finally thought that I had found a safe haven. Looks like i'll have to make an example of him too, but wait, what if he hasn't seen me, what if he's not out to get me? I'll just prepare for combat and reveal myself.[/glow]
As the dark horribly gruesome figure emerged from the folliage, a strange purple-black mist began to emit from his chest and when he was fully visible, he was just the opposite, invisible. All that was visible was a dark silhouette. In his hand, a black ball formed and morphed into a finely crafted sword.
[glow=purple,2,300]Who are you and do wish to hurt me based purely on my appearance like all the others? For if you do, you will regret it I promise you!![/glow]

[glow=gold,2,300]Rest is good. Interruption is not.[/glow]
A pair of pale eyes opened slowly. Their location near the top of a tree provided an unparallelled veiw of the shadowy creature. The entire tree dissolved, taking on the color and shape that many now recognized as Mequidra. He slowly collected himself as he looked at the new creature.
[glow=gold,2,300]"Not human. Very unusual on this planet . . ."[/glow]
His thoughts shot between the minds of all present. The gaze of the shapeshifter cut through the odd creature as he waited for a response.

Prokhorov ignored Mequidra's thought-message, though it surprised him. "I do not wish to kill anyone," he said. "Although I do not know who you are. Are you trying to kill me?"
When the shadowy figure did not respond immediately, Prokhorov added, "I will make myself visible if you will not try to kill me." It looks like he's certainly prepared.

[glow=gold,2,300]He could speak the truth, but no, I won't be deceived again! He will not be allowed to reveal my location to the others of his kind.[/glow]
As the hazy silhouette advanced further, the black sword in his hand writhed and twisted until it was no more than a mere smooth black ball which shot in the general direction of the voice. For even if his opponent were visible, the shadowy, misty form has no optical receptors that can take in light.

Prokhorov looked calmly at the strange shape, from his cover of invisibility. "I do not wish to hurt anyone," he said again. "I know, since I'm talking, you can probably tell where I am. I will make myself visible if you will not harm me."
"Funny," he added to himself. "I could have sworn I saw Mequidra here."

As the black ball dicipated in the shadowy figures hand, the purple black mist began to fade and a hideously gruesome figure emerged in the shadows.
[glow=purple,2,300]Very well being, what now stands before you is the creature that has been driven from countless towns because of the form I take. So if you as well wish to attack, do it now before you are attacked. And by the way, I knew where you were before because of my sonar however inacurately.[/glow]

Prokhorov raised his eyebrows when he saw DarkUmbra, but that was all.
"Well," he said, "I certainly understand now, and no, I won't try to do anything to you. My name's Prokhorov."

As DarkUmbra heard this the it seemed as though months of tension and anger was uplifted from him. He slackened his posture, and emerged slightly farther from the shadows but remained enough to conceal himself.
[glow=purple,2,300]It is amazing to hear such words of passion and understanding. You speak the truth freind, DarkUmbra is my name.[/glow]

Prokhorov smiled.
"It's good to meet you."
I'm sure Mequidra was here somewhere!

((I don't think Mequidra and Prokhorov have been introduced. I thought your charecter could not use a name they didn't know . . .))
Mequidra slid up behind the human and formed his hand into a lance. He poked it into his target's back, enough to make his presence known but not to injure him.
[glow=gold,2,300]"Creature of the shadows, you interest me. However, this human is more interesting. I require corpses, and this person fails to meet one of the chief requirements for corpses . . .[/glow]
The shapeshifter looked at the human. In the penetrating darkness that seemed to come from the being before him, he could barely make out the shape of the human. He wondered how much of a fight this person would put up.

Prokhorov had slowly materialized while talking to DarkUmbra. Now he turned around.
"Yes... you're Mequidra aren't you?"

[glow=purple,2,300]Mequidra eh? You are a shape-shifter judjing by your ability to... well shapeshift. Your race interets me as does mine interest you, but I on the other hand have no use for the human even though he is the first of his ignorant race to be more accepting which I appreciate.[/glow]
As the dark figure spoke and became more interested in the current happenings, the makeshift smokescreen once again began to conceal him most likely without his realization of it.
[glow=gold,2,300]If I should make myself scarce now, by mixing with the shadows, and then return after the imminant battle, the winner should be fairly weak should he want to harm me. Perhaps I should not interfere.[/glow]
And with that the shadows began to flicker as DarkUmbra summoned every last ounce of his shadow powers to cause total darkness for a mere second, but once the light returned, he was gone. However he was not gone so much as he was hanging from the nearest tree that was evelloped in shadows. Unless they knew just where to look, he would remain hidden.

Mequidra blinked. His name was not common knowledge, nor was his existence.
[glow=gold,2,300]" . . . Yes. And who are you, may I ask?"[/glow]
He looked at the creature standing in the shadows. He needed food, but he wanted to know how his identity had been made known.
[glow=gold,2,300]"Also, who are you? I don't recall seeing something like you. Stranger things, yes, but nothing identical . . ."[/glow]
