A navy blue flash eminated from the air, and Alexander dropped fifty feet to the hard, stony ground. His feet slammed down on the lichen-covered rocks, but a small white shockwave showed that his magical barrier had protected him from it.
The angel-born looked around. He was facinated by forest, having grown up and lived without. Staring at the magnificent trees, he wondered what life would be like on his planet if they'd had them.
Probably a lot more oxygen, and that's never good . . .
Slowly, as if in a trance he walked up to the nearest one and sat under it.

There was a flash of black around the nearest tree. I fell over in twelve pieces. Suddenly innumerable spirals emminated from a dark figure. They shot into the nearby trees and they all collapsed into eachother. DarkUmbra was working off restlessness. Suddenly all the black blades disaperated and the shadows twisted and moulded themselves into beams of life-force, they twisted around the decimated trees and the life-force healed the trees back to their original splendor. DarkUmbra sensed the presence of another. He emmitted his shroud of shadows to conceal himself, and climbed a nereby tree.

Alexander leaned back and closed his eyes, announcing his next statement seemingly to the world in general.
"You know, you can't pretend that people don't notice the shadows moving around and being in places they can't possibly be."
He stuck his tongue out at an odd angle from his smiling mouth and looked up to the shadowy tree where he knew DarkUmbra was.
"Come on down. I honestly don't know why you always hide from people."

The smell of smoke entered her lungs. She turned from her small fire she had just started. The sound of trees falling echod around her. What in the world? She jumped from her spot on the rock.
She moved close throw the trees, feeling the branches snag her clothes. She was wearing a blue see-through dress and a black leather jacket to keep her warm. At an unknown second she stopped behind a tree to see a man and a shadow. She wiped her brownish hair away from her pale face, Than listened closely.

((Yes, an all Idahoan post was what this was trying to achieve.))
DarkUmbra twitched at the sound of Alexander's voice. Damn he had forgotten to absorb his shroud of shadows. At least this time, it was not fatal. This time. DarkUmbra decended to ground level on a floating black platform which dispersed and was absorbed into him.
[glow=purple,2,300]I hide because it is my most effective battle technique Alexander. What are you doing in the forest pray tell?[/glow]
DarkUmbra kneeled in the shadows nearest him, withdrew his shroud, and began to absorb the energies of them.

"Whatever I like, my friend. Just trying to meditate. Until I was so rudely interrupted."
He smiled at DarkUmbra. Sarcasm was something most species didn't get, but he understood it. Just another agonizing similarity between intruils and humans.
"I might ask the same of you. What buisness have you wandering around in an obvious ball of shadows in the middle of the day?"

((I think Shimmer should be allowed to post here even if she isn't an Idahoan; the more peopole the more interesting, right?))
Cethyn wandered around under the trees, uncertain of what to do. Without the Overseer giving him constant commands, he was utterly lost and confused. He had been peckish until that girl had nipped by right in front of him up the road a ways--a lucky catch that was a testament to his reflexes. Full and lost, he noticed two figures ahead of him, facing off, though not in battle. He recognized one as DarkUmbra, but the other, a funky glowy being, was unfamiliar, and went into his mental library.
Stepping out so that both could see him, Cethyn extended his antennae to twitch around in the direction of the new being. It smelled odd; totally unfamiliar, and obviously as much an alien entity as himself, Mequidra, and DarkUmbra on this human dominated world. He greeted the creature, "Hello. We are Cethyn. Who are you? What are you? What is your purpose?" He retracted his antennae, waiting for an answer.

((If a fuss will be raised, she can post here. It's just that Gen wanted a post that could have all of us, and with that many, it could get cluttered. That's all.))
Alexander sized up the newcomer. Pointy antennea signaled to him, and he inquired his essence as to its origin.
[glow=blue,2,300]Cythen. Intelligent insect-creatures. Similar to the fifth strain of Creed, but less powerful. Be on your guard.[/glow]
The angel-born smiled in the Cythen's direction.
"I am Alexander. I am an intruil angel-born. My purpose is to uphold the light and cast down darkness. Who are you, who walks on two legs and fights with four?"

If he'd had eyebrows, Cethyn would have arched one. An interesting statemeent, 'he who walks on two legs and fights with four' was.
"We are Cethyn."
He considered telling this Alexander being what he was about, but decided against it. It said it was angel born, and the Orions, ancient enemies of the Cython had masqueraded as angels for millions of years before the Cython had finally crushed them. However, this being--it had called itself an intruil--neither looked nor spelled like an Orion. Perhaps it would prove helpful; perhaps it would not.

Alexander decided that the creature was no threat and relaxed. He slowly stood up and made a drawn-out show of stretching.
"Cethyn. You are not one to specify beyond what you have to, are you?"
The angel-born eyed the insect critically, a look of slight bemusement on his face.
"What are you, then?"

DarkUmbra had realised that they had forgotten him. Him started to jump up and down, and broke both of his legs. As he lay waiting for them to heal, he 'looked' at Alexander, and then at Cythen. He recognized the insect.
[glow=purple,2,300]Ow. Gotta stop doing that. Hey Cythen, were you the insect thing at Corvina? I'm DarkUmbra.[/glow]
His legs healed, and he stood up. He did not extend a hand to the insect thing.
