Mitsuko swung open the heavy wooden meeting room door and entered. His bright, steady blue eyes glanced about at the many military commanders of Corvina standing around a long, oval-shaped wooden table. Several bright red stripes decorated the shoulders of Mitsuko’s black and blue New Wave uniform. His short, spiked brown hair reflected some of the artificial light from the overhead lamp. Calmly, he sat down and folded his hands. The other military commanders silently nodded and followed his lead. Then he spoke.
“You all know why we are here. Just hours ago, this military base in the capital city of Corvina was attacked by two men; they possessed great power, and caused much destruction. We believe that Shurnon, our current greatest threat, sent them. One carries a large sword, and possesses powerful magic abilities. We currently have no description of the other.”
“According to intelligence reports, Shurnon is planning to assail our capital city. They have built a large airship force, and their troops are, as of this moment, getting in the drop ships that will be used for the attack. That is the most likely explanation for the two men who attacked this base hours ago; they were sent to find our top military base. Acting upon false information, they attacked this base, thinking that the New Wave Academy is inside Corvina City.”
“Do we know when Shurnon will attack Corvina?” one of the lower military officers asked.
Mitsuko brushed back a few spikes of his hair confidently. With a determined look, he replied, “They will attack us in approximately 12:00 hours. I have ordered the admiral to prepare our airship fleet for the battle. They will be landing most of their troops on Porle Beach; we will fight in the small forest between there and this mountain; we will fight in the skies; we will fight in the city itself, if need be. We must use every means of our power to protect our capital. For this purpose, I have prepared all of the New Wave Army for a massive encounter with the enemy.” He explained.
“I also hired a good friend of mine to aid us in this battle. His name is Rayan Stiger. He leads a mercenary group of skilled warriors. He should arrive here any minute now.”

Rayan’s airship flew over the Corvina mountain range posthaste towards Mt. Corvitan. A light snow swirled about the aerial craft as it approached Corvina’s capital. Slowly, Rayan lowered the airship with care. Ice and steam poured out underneath it as it touched ground on the rocky mountainside. Rayan cut the engine, and the propellers stopped whirling. He whipped off his blue goggles and placed them on the pilot’s seat as he stood up; looking outside, Rayan noticed that the snowfall was thicker on Mt. Corvitan than over any of the other mountains.
“We made it. You can get out now” he said to the others. Rayan hopped out of his airship and looked about. He saw no way inside the mountain itself.
“Man, don’t tell me that we came all this way for nothing…” Rayan said. “How the heck are we supposed to get in there…?”
Through the thick of the snow, Rayan spied what he believed were two Corvina soldiers. He figured that since he had no other way in, he should greet them; perhaps they were expecting him. “Follow me” Rayan said to the others behind him. Then he tromped his way through the snow towards the two objects he had seen.
As he approached, Rayan distinguished that they were, in fact, soldiers; their blue and white uniforms blended in for the most part with their environment. On their heads they wore blue helmets with black univisors. The soldiers stood completely still, despite the biting cold. They hardly seemed to notice Rayan approach them. But once Rayan approached them, they both turned calmly towards him, with their guns slung across their shoulders. They addressed Rayan before he spoke a word.
“Rayan Stiger. Follow us.”
So they did expect me…
Rayan motioned to the group to follow him, and then turned and walked behind the two soldiers. They walked towards the mountainside wall, and surprisingly, walked directly through it. “Holographic scenery…shoulda known…” Rayan said to himself, impressed with the defensive measures the Corvina military had taken. He glanced back one last time at his allies before walking through the holographic wall.
Rayan gazed about at Corvina City; although it resided in the belly of a mountain, it thrived, mostly, with activity. Shops were established on several streets, and people walked about, talking, buying, and selling. Rayan lost his breath momentarily; he was impressed.
He followed the soldiers until he saw what looked like a lone military building looming in sight. As he approached it, Rayan looked at the somewhat noticeable damage about him. There were some facility cleaners who were mopping up the bloodstained ground. Were they attacked? Who could have caused this? Rayan thought.
The soldiers led him to the front entrance to the base, and parted sides, saying, “General Mitsuko has been expecting you. He will call for you shortly.” Rayan thanked them, and stepped inside. The base interior was more stunning than the holographic scenery and the city combined. The walls were decorated by straight green flashing lines, darkish-gray walls and extremely well kept electrical equipment. To Rayan, it seemed like a glimpse of heaven.
“Dang…this place is cool…well, I guess I’ll wait here until I’m sent for” Rayan said to himself. “When Mitsuko wants me, I’ll go…I’d be kinda out of place for me to just bust into whatever meeting he’s having right now.”
Rayan leaned up against the wall, calmly awaiting for someone to tell him that General Mitsuko was ready to meet him. He hummed quietly to himself as he waited.
This is sweet…I can’t wait to find out what our mission is! I can’t believe that the Corvina military hired us. Whatever job they want us to do, it must be important. I wonder how much we’re getting paid for this, too…

As the airship landed Matt stood up and stretched. He adjusted his belt and gunblade and then slid his hand into place with Aran's. He then pushed through the whole crowd of mercenaries and fake mercenaries to get to Rayan. He then slowed in step with Rayan as he walked towards the holographicaly concealed entrance. ( is holographicaly even a word? ). He looked over at Rayan.
"Hey...uhh...when you go into this meeting thing with Mitsuko. I would suggest you leave this crowd of retards behind. Pick a select few to go with you...cause I really don't think that you want a huge crowd following you into a private conference. Pick a few representatives. I volunteer...and I will be pretty angry at you if you don't pick me. I am your best friend....right...buddy??"
He snickered and then looked up at the hologram the people just walked through. He was a bit awestruck at the capacity of it. As he walked through the hologram the awe only increased leaving Matt dumbfounded. He then looked back over at Rayan releasing his grasp of Aran's hand and instead walking with his arm around her shoulders.
"No I am just kidding Ray...but I am serious about picking some representatives. I think that would be the best way."
He then stood next to Rayan as they waited patiently.

((...Gai...wasn't it YOU who said that tira wasnt even LIKE me?? Oy... Tira is NOT me. Tira hates ALL except for karunii and fay't. And she WILL do everything within her power to keep gai away from karunii if she sees Gai as a threat.))
When Karunii's body shook, Tira softened and placed her hand on his hand to soothe him. It was a completly friendly gesture, just to let him know that she was still there for him and to remind him that she was his friend. She could feel his desperation, and she felt a tinge of saddness. She did not want Karunii to worry.
"Do not fret, my friend. I apologize for upsetting you in any way. Do not forget that I will stay by your side for as long as I can."
Whenever Tira said anything, she choose to honor it. Whatever that came from her lips, she meant. She would stay Karunii's friend no matter what. The plane suddenly landed, and Tira felt refreshed from the cool mountain air that began to leak in.
This is more like it. Much better than the wretched desert.
"Karunii, we are here. Would you care to explore a bit?"

Seeing Rayan land in the mountains, Gai followed him. He knew that they would be somewhere remote but he never thought it would be up in the middle of a mountain range. "Come one my friend." he said to Skarlath as he listened to Rayan talk to the two soldiers standing infront of something.
As Gai walked through the holografic scenery, he noticed that it was very light in the city and yet, he couldn't find the source of it. "Wow, this is sweet." he said in a low tone. "I hope they don't have a problem with Skarlath coming, it's just, he won't leave my side and I'd much rather have him with me any ways." he whispered to Rayan.
It was just after he had said that when a soldier gave a look of digust towards Skarlath. Ignoring the man, Gai raised his voice a bit and pated Rayan on the back, "So, Old Mitsuko 'll be debfriefing us uh? Well, been awhile since I saw the general but I'm sure he's the same as ever." he said with a hearty laugh. He was enjoying himself and desided that everyone should; including Tira who always seemed to be having a bad time everywhere she went.
"Here you go." he said to Rayanit was a new gun cleaning kit He had bought it at a shop they passed.
" I just wanted to say....." he paused for a moment, not sure if what he was about to say was the right thing to say. But in the end, he desided that it was. "I just wanted to say that I am honored to be able to fight along side every single one of you. I don't know what's gonna happen to any of us durring this fight and I just wanted to say, you are ALL good friends and I would never trade a single one of you for another." he said as he sat down to wait for the debriefing to start. From that moment on, he spoke very rarely and it was no more than a few words if he did.

D burst through the chill clouds into the fridgid air atop his great dragon king, fashionably late of coarse. Ds dragon approached the mountain side very rapidly, like a cat pouncing on a helpless mouse. The dragon landed close to Rayans great airship and mysteriously shifted its form back into the noble horse.
D dismounted. He liked the frozen crunch of snow underneath his shiney black boots, the way the wind pulled his pitch black cape and the feeling of not having to worry about the heat and its formadable danger. D wondered over to the others and asked them where Rayan was, they told him about Rayans entrance to the base.
D than walked over to the mountain side and placed his hand on the side of it. He ran his hand along it as he slowly walked around the perimeter of this moutain side, searching for an entrance. At last he found the entrance, the illusion was very well done, but diligence would help if anyone was in search of it.
D entered the base and imediatly knew where to find his allies. He heard the anoying voice of Takeshi, who had followed Matt into the base for befriending him on the airship. D walked towards the anoying addolesant and continued walking with the group.

"Completely understandable, friend." James turned back towards Boku and smiled. "By the way...your secret's safe withy me." The ship came to a slow halt and lowered to the sands, allowing James to get off for his fighter...he did this by leaping off of the side and landing a few yards away from the beautiful piece of machinery.
"Excellent." James pulled the camoflage net off of his fighter and smiled at it's shiny gleem. He flicked off a few small desert creatures as he walked along it and to the cockpit. He keyed the entry code and the canopy opened up. James grabbed the lip off the entryway and vaulted over, plopping down onto the leather seat inside. He keyed the same code to make the canopy close and pressurize upon command.
"Should get there in no time..." He punched a few keys on the nav console and a course was planned for the Corvitan mountains. He punched the ignition and the engines hummed to life, after the ready lights glowed green he brought the repulsorlifts online and hovered to roughly 1000 feet and shut them off. He then pushed the throttle forward and screamed after the airship at nearly mach 3...
[glow=blue,2,300] [/glow]
James' fighter touched down along with Rayan's airship and he opened the cockpit. He grabbed a pair of leather gloves out of the glove compartment and a turtlneck sweater from behind his seat. He climbed over the side of his ship and jumped to the ground, snow swirled around his feet where he landed. He slipped on the thick black sweater and grabbed his gear from the cargo bay. He slipped on the black leather gloves and picked up his weapon hard case, then proceeded through the huge hologram with the rest of the group.
When they arrived in the waiting room, James directly proceeded to the opposite corner of the room and dropped his gear on the ground next to him. He always preffered this position so as to keep an eye on every entrance...

A yawn pulled forcefully at the corners of Aran's lips. She reached one hand upward to conceal her mouth and then allowed herself the sharp intake of air, trying to keep her eyes from showing anything. "I have to agree with Matt, Rayan," she commented once her yawn had been completed. "Most of the people in this room can hardly act semi-formal yet friendly with each other, we can't trust how they will act in a situation with the General. You should at least consider only bringing a select few along with you."
Her mind drifted back to the entranceway where she had seen two men mopping up blood.
I wonder what happened . . . This could be more dangerous than I thought.
Then again, she had spent the better half of the last few years of her life in a lifestyle that should have gotten her killed over a hundred times. She was used to being in danger.
"Matt, I'm a little bit worried about this," she said, speaking in a soft undertone to make sure that nobody else heard her. "I haven't really talked to anyone of great importance in the world since . . . well . . . you know. And when I first saw Rayan he totally freaked out . . ." She bit her lip and looked at him.
Just say that you’ll be there for me . . .
"I mean, I'm totally fine with watching out for myself and stuff, I'm just worried. They can't put me in jail . . . can they?" her soft blue eyes carried a very pitiful look, hard as she tried to conceal it, as she gently pressed a wisp of bang back behind her ear. The room was starting to fill up with people.
"So, what are you going to do, Rayan?" she pressed, allowing her voice return from it's whispered drone to its normal level.

Rayan wasn’t paying attention to Gai; his thoughts were too focused on the upcoming meeting. Although he was personal friends with Mitsuko, he still had to show the best image possible to the powerful military leader. More than anything, Rayan did not want to make his friend sorry for hiring him. When Gai handed him the gun cleaning kit, Rayan scratched his head thoughtfully and accepted it, thanking his friend for his efforts to reconcile to group, even though it did seem out of place.
“Heh…thanks, buddy. You know I love my weaponry…always have to have ‘em in top shape.” Rayan gave his friend a thumbs up and smiled slightly. He then returned to his leaning position against the wall. Rayan remained fixed his position with his arms crossed until Matt approached him. Rayan listened well to what his friend had to say, and Aran also. He remained silent momentarily, and then spoke.
“Hmmm…definitely didn’t intend on having a crowd follow me to the meeting. I was originally planning on attending this meeting alone…” Rayan scratched his chin thoughtfully for a moment, and shut his eyes. When he opened them again, he said, “I suppose you are right. Having representatives does seem like a good idea…”
But whom can I trust?
As Rayan pondered over his decision, he overheard Aran whispering something in Matt’s ear, although he did not hear the words she spoke. However, Rayan did notice the discomforted look in her eyes. He knew not what about, but he thought that it might have something to do with him, deriving from the glance she gave him as she bit her lip. Rayan knew not what to make of her subtle communications. But after only a moment’s thought more, he did realize whom to bring with him to the meeting. Rayan stood up straight, and momentarily said, “It is decided…Matt, Aran…I would appreciate it if you would represent our clan for us with me. You are right about the others being incapable of such a matter. In fact, I figure that you will actually misrepresent Clan Thyconis with your good behavior, instead of showing it for what it really is,” Rayan joked half-heartedly with a slight smile gracing his lips.
At that moment, Rayan’s eye caught sight of D the dunpeal, who had apparently just arrived. Initially, Rayan’s impulses were to simply return to his previous position against the wall, but instead he focused on D more closely. After a short while, Rayan thought, I don’t know him very well, but Matt seems to trust him. And he’s quiet- not like the rest of them. He might not have much to contribute to the meeting in the form of words, but at least he is worthy of accompanying us.
While Rayan was thinking, a soldier approached him and said, “General Mitsuko expects you in his meeting. I’ll show you where it is.” Rayan turned to him and said, “Thanks…I’ll be right with you.”
“Well, this is it,” Rayan said to Matt and Aran. “Time for our debrief. Follow my lead- don’t cause any trouble. We have trouble enough already.” Looking at D, Rayan snapped his fingers and said, “Hey…you come with us, too.” He then turned to follow the Corvina soldier.
After only a few short steps, Rayan stopped, and turned his head to look behind him. “Gai, you stay here. I have to have someone here to prevent everybody from wrecking havoc while I’m gone. You seem to have fairly good negotiation skills regarding James and Boku; see if you can’t apply them to the rest of them. Just keep them in line.” With that, Rayan followed his guide down the base hallways to meet General Mitsuko face-to-face.

It was only moments after D arrived at where everyone was gathered that the leader, Rayan, was snapping fingers at him.
Snapping fingers at me, what does this guy take me for a dog?
But after a moment D noticed that it wasnt a disrespectful snap of the fingers at all, just somthing to get his attention. D hesitated, it was all happening a little fast, so he initially couldnt keep up with what was happening, but finally came to the conclusion that it would be wise to attend this meeting and also an honor.
As he followed the others, the memory of what had occurred just outside this base a short time earlier returned to D's mind.
[shadow=red,left,300]“AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!” he cried, watching helplessly as Zagur slowly approached him, so coolly and calmly…
“C…Curse you……you wicked fiend…” he choked out, collapsing on the ground in a heap. Blood flowed from his lip and his eyes, and his tongue was black from smoke. Zagur hefted his sword onto his shoulder and taunted his victim.
“I shall enjoy seeing you suffer.” [/shadow]
D remembered that monster, Zagur. He could hear everything- the screams, the blood squirting from the soldiers' fresh wounds, the cracking of their spines. He also recalled the beast's incredible power; no bullets would hurt him. Nothing worked against this terrible titan.
D clenched his fist and gritted his sharp teeth with a renewed hatred for what this man had done. But he hated him most for his unyielding power and strength. Someday soon D planned to make that accursed man pay...
D snapped out of his daze and came back to the present time. He than walked towards Rayan.
[glow=silver,2,300]Let's go.[/glow]

As Gai handed out presents Matt simply shook his head.
"Is it Christmas or something? This is weird man..."
He then turned to Aran. Matt looked straight in her eyes as she laid her concerns upon him. He held her with one hand on each of her arms and looked directly in her eyes.
"Listen Aran, that is in the past now. I know it is hard to forget, I mean....you have the scars to show it."
He touched her previously blond but now black hair.
"But you need to press on. And as for someone putting you in jail...I wont let that happen. And you are pretty powerful yourself. There is nothing at all to worry about."
He looked gravely behind him at the blood people were mopping up.
"As for things like that, I have been in much worse situations. I think you have too. Everything will be fine. Plus, we have each other now. Now that we are together, I doubt that anything can stop us."
He smiled at her hoping she felt better. He then looked to Rayan for guidance as what was happening when. As he heard he was to be a representative he nodded and gave a thumbs up.
D then walked in and was also chosen. He nodded his greeting to him and punched him in the arm as he walked by with him.
"Looks like you and me will be getting a lot of the action in this show. I know you want to face Zagur alone...we won't cross you if you dont cross us. Got it? And I'll make sure you get your showdown with Zagur alone. I doubt most of this ragtag band will make it near him. It kind of comes down to you, me and Aran, and a few others."
He pointed back at Takeshi as they walked following Rayan. Matt grasped Aran's left hand while D was on the right of him.
"You may want to do something about him. He's a great kid, but I mean...you and I are probably his only friends, which means he will follow us. Where we are going he will not survive. You may want to find a way that he doesn't get near Zagur."
He brushed some of his hair back with his right hand and looked forward down the walkway.

Tira's eyes flashed in fury when a book of fighting skills was handed to her. It was an insult. Not to mention Tira found the gift incredibly stupid. Why would she want to mimick another person's fighting style? If she were to fight somebody, and they recognized it, wouldn't they have an advantage? Stupid.
The book turned into a pile of ash within seconds it touched her hand. A gust of icy wind carried the ash and blew it into Gai. She did not conjure this wind, but she was glad it had blown into Gai. Her eyes flashed a dangerous red.
How dare you.
Her eyes then seemed to glow red as a gift was handed to Karunii. Tira reached a slender hand forward to touch the gem. Yes, she knew she recognized it before. Tira had used this gem many a time to track down her prey when she was on a hunt. The gem would continue to glow, and therefore easier to track down. Gai wanted to send Karunii to his death.
Her fist clenched in fury. Gai was so stupid, it never ceased to amaze her in disgusting ways. She had never been this angry before. Enemies could see the beacon of light as well. Tira could not find any words to describe her fury. Before Karunii could respond, Tira crushed the gem in her hand crumbling it into dust.
It was a mistake to come with Rayan. She never should have allowed Rayan to take Karunii under his care for Rayan's company was composed of fools. What would somebody do next? Send Karunii straight into the clutches of the supposed enemy? She wouldn't be surprised at all. Her fury continued to build, and it felt wonderful. She wanted to kill.
"Karunii."
Her voice was cool, although it was obvious that it was surpressing her fury.
"I think I should take you back. These people are dangerous. Gai had given you a gem which would send a beacon of light whenever you are in supposed danger. A beacon of light which enemies can see and then find and perhaps kill you. I cannot allow that. I have had enough of these dolts."
Tira then turned towards Gai and the departing Rayan, her eyes blazing with her dark fire. Her hand rested on her roll of wire, resisting the temptation to try to kill them both right now.
"Unless you can convince me otherwise...you have made a grave mistake. To have me as an enemy is not the wisest choice."

From the bustling crowd around the group, a voice came from behind Tira, so soft that only she could hear it.
"Patience."
Fay't, cloaked in white and undiscernible from any other civilian (recognizable only by those who could sense him through some kind of magic) melted back into the crowd. He had only just arrived and came in just in time to see Tira challenge the noble fool. He knew she probably wouldn't like his advise but from what he saw, the Corvina military was high strung as it is and making a scene here could prove to be a most annoying nuisance.
In any case, Fay't was already lost in the crowd, trying to come up with a way to infiltrate Rayan's meeting. He would only trust what he heard with his own ears.

(GOODNESS PEOPLE, for the love of all that is good and holy, who fricking cares about such a small detail, you all get so bent out of shape just because someone put somthing in response to somthing else that was there, which is totally understandable since the whole gift giving thing was there for at least two days, and its not like its gonna make anything different, besides i got a chuckle or two out of the whole ashes blowing back into gai, that was funny. but anyways back to the real reason we're here, to rp) Takeshis Point of View Takeshi "stealthly" slipped down trying to follow D, Matt and Aran who acompanied Rayan. But his efferts at this sly manuver were all in vain. As if D's super duper hearing wasnt enough there was Matts and Arans and everyone elses for that matter. D turned around from where he was headed and silently opened his mouth popping his fangs forth towards his apprentice a little bit. Takeshi jumped back in fright, just the response that D was looking for. D wasnt being mean to the boy, just a way to get his attention and tell him that this meeting was not for "little childrens" ears. Takeshi shrunk back into a corner and sighed. He was very bored. He hoped that this upcoming battle would be exciting, just not too dangerous. But than he realized just how terrefying war really was. He was a fighter at heart, but the painful memories of his family still lurked in his mind. It was a long time ago that I saw blood, what am I doing here, sure I trained a lot under my teacher, and a little under D too, but I havent seen death since that fateful day 10 years ago...[shadow=red,down,300]We've heard your housing that deamon child known as Takeshi, WHERE IS HE!! No! I wont tell you were my child is you'll never find him... AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH![/shadow] The blood curtling scream of his mother was freakishly clear to Takeshis young mind. That was all he remembered clearly, the next thing that he could recount was vague, he knew that he had killed an entire townsworth of people, but he didnt know how, or why. I'm probably gonna die, what the heck am I doing here...
