D leaned up against the wall of his forgotten hide out, out in the middle of nowhere. He hadnt had a job in a very long time and was getting restless, so D called for his horse and mounted. He decided instead of sitting around in his dungeon, he would rather go out and have some fun slaying a few monsters and making a buck or two while he was at it.
So D started off towards Olmen city with the intention of seeing if any of the few residents needed him to go kill someone or somthing.
It just so happens that Olmen city was about a five day ride from where D was, and he would have to be ready for a fight or two or three along the way. Nothing he couldnt handle of coarse.
"Two days" D thought in his mind, "two days and not even one single monster in sight. I bet those monsters could be planning somthing near the river bed near here, better be on my gaurd."
D came to an old riverbed, it had not been flowing with water for some time now, but he knew it would be the perfect place for an ambush. He slowed his horse to a steady walk, and was prepared to take his sword out in a flash if need be.
After a while he was starting to get the impression that there werent any monsters there at all, so he stopped his horse and listend. there were indeed monsters there, about 12 if he heard right, but would 12 be enough to take him down....

D started his horse again, at a cautious state. He then persueded his horse to use all its speed and might and with the blink of an eye 11 of the 12 bandits fell down dead, with blood dripping from his sword he turned and looked at the tree which the last beast used as "protection" and watched as it fled in terror.
"I guess thats the end of that." D proclaimed with an unenthusiastic voice and continued on his way to olmen city.

::There was a scream, as a woman was held in the claws of a giant beast. The thing started to fly away, and it could be seen that she was trying to reach for something at her hip::

D observed what was happening to the young lady and then continued on his way to olmen city. but while on his way he could not ignore the painful screams of the girl and with that he turned around, noticing a steep hill that the monster would be passing by D beckond his horse to monuver with such great speed and agility up the hill. The horse leaped into the air and with one sweep of his sword the monster was left headless to fall.
But this threw out another prediciment. The girl would be left helpless to fall to the ground if somthing wasnt done. So D cast a powerful incantaion upon the beast he rode, and suddenly it didnt look so much like a horse, but a great deamon of darkness, he turned this great monster back toward the falling lady and caught her in his arms, carying her safely to the ground.
however somthing happend that D did not intend. One of the monsters arm was still alive and before D could do anything it had struck him with its mighty claws in the back and D was terribly wounded.

Once the beast had landed, the woman pulled out a scroll and worte something down on it, then she turned back to D to examin his wounds. "Hold still please." She said placing her hands on the wound as a dim light seemed to flow from them.

The wounds wich D had taken were starting to close up, the young lady was healing him. D did not very much apreciate this, who could imagine D the mercenary receaving aid, but out of gratitude for her kindness he decided to leave it be and got back onto his horse which was now back to normal.
"...thanks..."
and he left on his way to Olmen city

"I have a feeling we will meet again young dunpeal." She said to herself as she whistled to her horse hiding in the bushes.
