" . . . Come on, keep up the pace!"

"Enough!"
A large insect-like creature came crashing to the ground, panting heavily. She lifted her head and stared accusingly at the creature who spoke. This one was male. He wore a trench coat, with a long sleeve for his three and a half foot tail. His pale blue hair stood on end, thanks to only a few minutes of effort. Currently, he was pointing the smoking shotgun in his hand at the ground, and staring intently at the creature before him.
"Not bad, Rift. You are definately getting better; I've never seen someone learn so quickly. But there's still so much for me to teach you."
Rift sighed and stood, holding her gun in her upper two right arms. Every day for . . . how long was it? At least three years, since Setthirosa had raised her into a mature Cython. She glared at him with mock accusation.
"Well, pardon me for trying to use a little caution. These photon cartridges aren't free."
Opening the back of the Nile, her gun, she popped out the empty photon cartridge and threw it to the ground. Her statement was true; they had to sneak into town quite frequently to steal more photon cartridges. Setthirosa shrugged.
"Nevertheless, you've got to act with speed. If you wait there trying to find a target, you'll be a target yourself. Switch to rapid fire."
Inclining her head, Rift grabbed the rapid-fire attatchment and slipped it onto the end of the Nile with her middle arms. Inserting the proper ammunition, she raised the gun and aimed it at Setthirosa.
"Remind me why you teach me to fight?"
"You'll have to fight someday. I don't want to see you die becsaue of my mistakes."
[glow=gold,2,300]Rattatatatatatatat![/glow]
The Cython had been behind a rock as soon as Setthirosa fired his first shot. Peeking up over it, she jeered at him.
"You'll have to do better than that! Maybe you're getting too old for this . . ."
