Gai sat on the beach and began to think about the past events. He was wondering how an innocent conversation with that woman had turned into a bloody battle. And who was she. He realized at that moment that he had never gotten her name. But what did that matter? He had offended her and she hated him now; or so it seemed.
There were so many questions that he still had floating around in his head. How had he offended her? He couldn't remember anything that had happened prior to the fight. And why did she seem so keen to avoid human contact? Or contact with others in general? But these were questions that he had no way of answering.
He just couldn't believe it; he had only known her for a few minutes and it seemed that he had already ruined his chances of ever befriending her. But it didn't seem that they had much in common besides the fact they they were both great killers. They both believed differently about hope and grace...but maybe there was a chance that they could still work out their differences; though he highly doubted it.

As Harle walked along the sands of an enigmatic beach, she felt strangely calmed by the salty scent of the ocean's waters. She had been walking along different regions, trying to forget the previous day's events as the elvish samurai had angered her to such an unnecessary extent. Her lips fit into a defiant and nonchalant line as her eyes were cast off to the side. A silent glare rested upon the bubbling waters as they scurried towards her obsidian boots, as though trying to call her in. But she had never been one to enjoy the leisure activities pertaining to water. And it wasn't as though she had a personal grudge against the ever purging liquid, it was more so as though her body willed her to avoid it when there wasn't a need to bathe or swim.
Hhmm... I wonder where that elf is now, probably off with his friend somewhere. Heh... enjoying their troublesome company I suppose, but it shouldn't matter.
An almost labored sigh rolled from her violet lips as a gentle breeze brushed against her lavender locks and cryptic veil. She adjusted her blade along her shoulders as her perennial rose simply hung lazily from her gloved hand. Though her gaze was tossed towards the sea's temperamental waters, it was casually distant. Her mind wouldn't rest, she remained in deep but unnoticeable contemplation.
Yet... these thoughts simply won't die down. I'd rather be free of them... free of that cursed enigma, I mean... I hate him. He dug where he should not have... he already knows more than most who are still living.
She was always plagued with her occasional fits of insecurity, which encroached upon her semblances of solitary peace. It never felt pleasant to her to have someone know TOO much about her, even if it was as simple as knowing her heart's yearning to return to her fiery oblivion. Though it was eternal suffering and misery for most, it had been her home, and she missed it.
Really... it's about time I'd forgotten about my lost home... Lucifer wouldn't want me back. Most definitely not now... it's been too long, I failed him even as a child... I couldn't die in the eyes of war when such an honor was needed.
A rush of forgotten and melancholy laughter rushed from her lips, but was only heard by the winds that continued to beat against her. But she was hushed as a startling pain rushed to her gut, and she halted, clenching her teeth as her gloved hand flew to her abdomen. It stung at her insides, causing her stomach to churn uncomfortably. Its source was unknown, but it caused her face to contort with pain. She allowed her veil to shield her face as a gentle wind brushed it towards her strained guise. A low growl purred from her lips as the pain increased further.
Ggrr... what is this?! Why must this pain plague me now?...

As the ocean roared, Gai began to relax. He loved the soft sound of waves crashing into the shore and the roar of the wind through the waves. He lay back in the sand and closed his eyes. It was the most comfortable place he had been in a long time. But even though he was relaxed, he still wouldn't let his guard down. So he sat back up and placed his palms together. He then began to mummer an ancient Elvish incantation.
After a moment, a massive black wolf appeared at his side. "Hello Shadow. Nice to see you again." he said with a smile as he patted the large beasts great, black head. "I was wondering if you'd like to play watch dog for me? I know how much you hate it but this is the first time I've relaxed in a long time." he said with a slight smirk as he looked the big wolf in the eyes.
Shadow got a look in his eye that told Gai that he was displeased but he knew that it meant alot to Gai so he nodded his great head and gave a smile that only a wolf could. "thanks my friend." he said as he scratched Shadow behind the ear. "Now...I think I'll call Skarlath too." he said as he sent out a shrill whistle. After a moment, it was greeted with a sharp cry.
Then, like a thunderbolt, A giant Hawk landed next to the big wolf; which was made to look like a pup compared to the size of the mighty bird. "You call my friend?" he asked in his odd accent. "What isss it that I can do for you?" he said in his usual manner of holding out his s'.
"Alright, I just want you two to let me know if anyone approaches that looks like they might pose as a possible threat." he said as he gave the two a smile. "And if you see a young woman with a double-edged blade across her back, be careful. I don't want either of you two to approach her. Just come straight to me. I will handle whatever it is that she wants." he said as he lay back down and closed his eyes.
The two great animals both nodded and went on their separate ways; Skarlath to the air to circle around from above and shadow to the west which was the only way to approach by foot. They both knew that what Gai had said about the woman was to be heeded. they knew that he would never harm them for any reason no matter how angry he was but he would be disappointed in them.

Her senses were heavily dulled as she pulsed with a plethora of pain, sparking her usually dark aura which began to radiate about her frame. Shadows commenced to vein along her face as salty beads of dew formed at her brows. Sweat decanted down her usually impassive features as she growled further, bending as she held her left hand against her stomach. When even heat could not leave a burn or droplet of sweat upon her body, this remarkable pain could. It confused her and also brought her to her knees as she kneeled against the grains of sand. Her eyes shook with affliction as her pupils erratically changed, causing her to feel a bit hazy. But she tried her best to hold strong to her weakening resolve despite her body’s tremulous convulsion.
Go away, go away, go away!
Mentally, she tried to vanquish the pain, since uttered words would have only tired her. But alas, her short tirade did not prevail, and she continued to wallow within her own discomfort. Her breaths raggedly surpassed her delicate lips as she tried to calm her body. Her blade tremored as she wasn't able to still her right hand, and it soon laid upon the sand as her head drooped downward. One half was leveled within the sand while the other gleamed strikingly under the stark brightness of the sun. The baby-soft petals of the perennial rose were buried within the sand as the flower plummeted from her gloved hand.
Oh... my rose...
Startling surprise filled her eyes as she reached downward, and shakily scooped up the flower. This left her stomach unsupported and allowed her gut to freely insinuate painfully. Her knees gave way as she fell to her arms, coming a bit too closely to her blade. A small laceration coursed along one of her obscurely veined cheeks as she stared at the sands below her. A dark crimson streak thickly lined the upper half of her blade as she gazed murkily at the crumbled bits of sand. Her lavender locks of hair clung to her face as sweat continued to drizzle down the sides of her face. Her lips laid distantly agape as she tried to catch her breath. It felt as though boiling metal was plunged into her body, stinging every single nerve as she occasionally froze, being unable to move whatsoever.
Ggrrr... blood therapy probably won’t fix this problem, I should just shut down for now until this pain quells. And maybe... I won't have to think about that elf...
She had not solved the mystery of how the pain had latched itself to her body, and frankly that was not her current worry. She knew that she would weaken if she allowed the pain to strike her in her wake, so she gradually allowed her shadowy essence to invade her body. Obscurity filled her naturally crystal blue eyes as a dark fog exuded from her mouth. It was thin, and quickly dissipated after brushing against her slim frame. Gradually, her body began to calm, though the pain still burned fiercely throughout her insides. She was finally allowed to ignore it as her arms carried her about the sand, only until she collapsed onto her back. No further breaths left her lips as she laid there, falling immobile instantly as the dark fog grew stagnant.
Her eyes gradually shut, enclosing her into more darkness as her head lazed over her dark veil. Her hands had released their grips along the rose and double-edged blade while she fell inert, as though having died on command. But she was clearly alive, as her heart continued to beat, even without the aid of oxygen.
