The sea was calm, and night was slowly creeping up upon the rocky section of beach where Mahandronis stood. His arms were crossed before him, and he tapped a real finger on his mechanical forearm as he thought about the preceeding day's events.
[glow=silver,2,300]So. Nantaganatsitsu has followed me. The Oblivion's work, no doubt. And Alexander has . . . fallen? I cannot tell.[/glow]
He kicked a pebble down the pile of rocks he stood upon, watching it sink into the waves below. He stared out into the sunset and sighed.
[glow=silver,2,300]I didn't want to become this. I didn't want to do Lonærtheratu's dirty work for him, I don't want to go around killing things, I don't want any more of this. I'd let the Mages have their peace, let the Cabal have their paradise, if just to save myself . . .[/glow]
He shook himself, trying to clear the thought from his mind.
[glow=silver,2,300]No! That would mean death and destruction. It would leave the world as it always has been. I can only . . . continue . . .[/glow]
He sat down on the rocks, feeling the moisture from the ocean dampen the underside of his robes.
[glow=silver,2,300]What can I do but carry on?[/glow]

[glow=red,2,300]In the blackness of time, a soul searched for something. Not anything, but one thing, another being, one with a very distinct metal arm. For days she had searched, and then, in the crowded space of eternity, Brook saw it, a red sillhouette with a clearly silver arm.[/glow]
Brook's slender form blinked in behind Mahandronis, a smiled curving her cranberry lips.
[glow=red,2,300]"I need your help."[/glow]
She said clearly, leaning on a nearby palm tree. She didn't usually ask for help, but any other aproach might get her head nearly blown off.
The empty beach agrivated her. It was all too...bright. She was slightly drowsy even with her shades on, and that also ticked her nerves. The diamond sea littered the shore with diing sea stars and beautiful shells that Sumi would have tried to collect.
Brook flinched a little as her sister crossed her mind. She had to destroy her soon, or her mind would change, and she couldn't have that happen. Sumi was too addicted to life, human life, one filled with purity and god; but she was the spawn of Satan, as was Brook. The only difference was that Brook didn't mind, she actually liked the advantages of Lucifer's favor, Sumi couldn't handle them.

Mahandronis looked up. Standing over him was a relatively small creature, humanoid in shape. He sighed and stood up, looking down on her.
[glow=silver,2,300]"I don't exist to assist you. My purpose is not to aid anyone who comes to me with their petty problems."[/glow]
He turned to leave, his bare, clawed feet scraping along the stones. Suddenly, he stopped. He narrowed his eyes in irritation. Why did these things always happen to him?
[glow=silver,2,300]" . . . What do you want?"[/glow]

Brook smirked as he stopped, knowing very well that he would ask her what she waned. It was one advantage of meeting someone deadly, deadly someone with a soft side, that is.
[glow=red,2,300]"I need to kill someone. Someone who has the abilty to injure you, and already has."[/glow]
Brook flicked her wrist and sent one of Sumi's daggers neatly next to Mahandronis' claw. The power in it wouldn't have been able pierce flesh, but it sunk nicely into the absorbant sand.
[glow=red,2,300]"Recognise this? Same kind of blade that pierced your neck when you tried to kill Alexander, who is, by the way, still alive."[/glow]
She blinked out for a moment, only to reappear in front of Mahandronis.
[glow=red,2,300]"I know the kitsune, well, and with her protecting Alexander, you'll never be able to kill him in full. I'll help you, if you'll help me."[/glow]
She arched an eyebrow, waiting for his response.

Mahandronis hesitated. He wasn't entirely sure what to do about Alexander, or about Keltethyonex. He knew that both posed a threat, but . . . he could destroy them both, quite easily. Even one as highly trained as Keltethyonex would be torn apart by a Relic. And as for Keijina . . . he saw no reason to injure her. Alexander would move to save Keijina if she were in danger, and would be destroyed. Perhaps then . . .
[glow=silver,2,300]"I promise nothing. I have no intention of harming the Keijina creature. She is independent, a wanderer. She poses no threat. And as for Alexander . . . his affiliation does not concern me."[/glow]

Brook smirked, her self-control keeping her from full out laughing. How ignorant of him. Her hauntingly angelic voice echoed in his head.
[glow=red,2,300]"He poses some threat to you, or you wouldn't have tried to kill him in the first place. That means that his breathing status is of some concern to you. You gained another wrinkle when I told you he was still living. As for Keijina, you can not dispose of Alexander without disposing of her."[/glow]
Her mind slipped out of his gracefully, her smirk widening to a smile. She pulled out her sleek, prefered gun and tossed it into the sand.
[glow=red,2,300]"I need to learn how to use a new gun. I figured you would be the best. You need help, I need help. Fact. I'll scratch your back if you scratch mine. Deal?"[/glow]

Mahandronis considered. If she wanted gunpower, why did she talk to him? He wasn't in a position to provide it. The only weapon he'd ever held was the one attached to his right sholder. And as for the part about Keijina . . . he knew that his spells were more than a match for her. What did this creature have to offer him?
Still . . . he wanted to see what would happen. The Relic wasn't afraid of being double-crossed - anyone who angered him did so only once, as a rule. He might as well see what intentions this creature actually had.
He half-closed his eyes, and muttered a short incantation. As he did so, a bluish portal opened up, and he reached into it. After pawing around for a moment, he pulled out a large, multi-barrled rifle.
[glow=silver,2,300]"This gun is a replica of the one issued to Sniper, a member of the Orchid Clan. It has excellent range and accuracy, reasonable power and control, and a few functions that'll make themselves apparent as you use it."[/glow]
He tossed the rifle to her.
[glow=silver,2,300]"As a rule, I don't speak to things that don't have names. Prove otherwise if you want conversation to continue."[/glow]
[glow=silver,2,300]Too much work for a Tlyunava and an Intruil. I should leave them here to rot.[/glow]

Brook watched him dig into the portal and pull out the rifle. She smirked and plucked the gun from the sand, aiming it toward a large cluster of coconuts.
[glow=red,2,300]"Brook."[/glow]
She didn't even look at him as she said her name. Her finger pulled the trigger, waiting to see the 'few functions that'll make themselves apparent'.

The gun automatically whisked its sight to a target in the general area Brook was pointing it - a small seagull. As energy pushed around the edge of the gun, Mahandronis' eyes widened, and he slammed his metal fist into the gun's end. This knocked the aim off course, and the swirling energy bullet slammed into the beach, spraying sand everywhere.
[glow=silver,2,300]"Don't DO that! You can't go around needlessly killing everything you come across! Be careful with that gun, or I'll destroy it as easily as I gave it to you."[/glow]

Brook growled, her black eyes twinkling with a bit of frustration. Her dark lip curled up slightly as she realized, to some degree, what had happened.
[glow=red,2,300]"I was aiming at the damned COCONUT! What is it that this thing does? Attack living things? In case you haven't noticed, neither me or my sister are actually living!"[/glow]

Mahandronis rolled his eyes in exasperation. It irked him when creatures thought that not being alive meant they couldn't be killed, and he hoped this creature wasn't thinking along those lines.
[glow=silver,2,300]"First of all, stay out of Keltethyonex Nantaganatsitsu's way. He deals with the undead, and his gun has been modified to ascertain that what he kills does not return. Second, the gun will do that if it thinks you do not have the ability to properly handle it. Also, it is not that the creature is alive. The gun homes in on what you are likely aiming for. Presumably, your aim was off, or it simply assumed that a coconut did not pose enough of a threat to warrent its being shot."[/glow]
He turned back to the sea, flexing his metal hand. It shone in the setting sun, and barely made a noise as it might be expected to.
[glow=silver,2,300]"Brook . . . I do not understand the issue between you and your sister. I assume that it is of some consequense, so I'll not pry. However, there are some things to keep in mind. First of all, the gun has a mind of its own, powered by the energy that you and its maker put into it. It'll do things you don't expect it to, but if you allow them to happen, it'll help you in the end. Understood?"[/glow]

Brook sighed with relief. So the thing didn't target living things, it targeted the most threatening. That was a huge load off of her back.
[glow=red,2,300]"So, the jelly dude has to be far, far away...that can be aranged."[/glow]
The vampire situated the weapon on her arm, getting used to the weight and what not.
[glow=red,2,300]"Who is this 'sniper' and how do you know the character?"[/glow]

Mahandronis smiled, looking up at the red rays which the sun was producing from beyond the horizon.
[glow=silver,2,300]"There is a group called the Epsilonian Empire that works . . . for the Relics, you might say, though they pretend not to. A so-called 'income collecter' group known as the Orchid Clan, a band of thieves, works for the Empire. And Sniper is one of the clan's ten members. She wields that rifle, and prefers to attack from a long ways off while others do the melee work for her."[/glow]
