Yes I have heard of soft rock bands. Coldplay among others comes to mind.
You don't have to scream your ass off in rock...in fact the only type of music you should do that with is metal...and even that nisn't nessesary. Lots of good metal bands NEVER scream.
I don't like Linkin Park anymore mostly because of chester's singing...it just doesn't sound the way yelling should nor does it go with the music.

Recently I started turning on my radio to the hard rock station, playing some stuff like that which has been already mentioned, and stuff like Lostprophets (or is that 2 words?)
Speaking of which I like their music.

Ditto on the Daft Punk scantness. Hhmm... I've got two of their CDs to keep me happy. ^_^
But I've been getting into quite a bit of metal... as noted a long time ago. Wah, but now Cory has gotten me searching the net. I figure that the members of SoaD have Romanian descendants.

Daft punk makes me happy. I am a techno/electronica/trance/whatever fan. However, System of a Down is my favorite band ever, because they are better than all the other bands ever. No arguing. I don't want to hear it. SOAD wins. So :-Þ

Wow... not open to NEW bands, are you? ^.^ I love them too, heh... wonder if you've heard their "Legend of Link" song though. Hah! Hmm.. though you probably have. But that's the first song that had gotten me hooked to them. Now I can't get enough of B.Y.O.B. Did you know that an actual group goes by that name? I haven't heard their music... but I am curious.

Actually, I have heard that song, and I have also heard that it was not in fact them. They went on some show and said that it was not they who made that song.

Another example of an excellent soft-rock band is Oasis. Not the most popular, but I like their sound. Wonderwall and Don't look back in anger are good.

My hair's long enough to headbang, and Marilyn Manson's not the heavyest, but I must say he's still my favorite.
Who likes Pink Floyd?

Considering that your avatar is the cover of Dark Side of the Moon, I'd guess that you are. I haven't heard enough of their work myself to decide whether I like it or not. I think one of my parental units may have a CD or two...
