Kathryn had a bright smile plasted on her face and was going through a mental fit of schoolgirl-like giggles. She loved every moment that she was blessed to spend with DarkUmrba, and ontop of getting to spend this wonderful day with him frolicking and doning whatever else in this beautiful field, one of the most gorgeous sunrises that she had ever seen was taking place at the moment. She was practically walking on air and she gently guided DarkUmbra over to the middle of the field and sat down carefully, giving a cute little 'come sit with me' pull on the arm of the hand that she was embracing as if it were her own. Her eyes danced with joy and the knowledge that, at that moment, she was indestructable.
I have him and nothing is going to take that away.
She smiled and took a deep breath feeling the energy from the dawning day fill her lungs and completly refresh her mental spirit. She had spent too many days with a saddened heart; now it was time to make up for lost time. She released her breath with a slight excited squeal at the end and looked up at DarkUmbra. "Isn't this just the most wonderful way to start a day?"

DarkUmbra took his seat beside Kathryn. He held her in his arms, and stared deeply into her eyes. Too long had he spent dwelling on the past experiences that had haunted him for all his life. Too long had he been forced to remember that which would slowly destroy him for protection. Not long enough had he been happy. Never before making Kathryn's aquaintence had he been happy. Time to let all of that go now. New body, new. . .everything else. All forgotten save one thing. His love for Kathryn. He leaned in, gave her a long kiss, and then turned to the sun and greeted the day.
"Thay it is my love, that it is."

"Certainly, deprivation of love must be the greatest pleasure that one can have."
From behind a large tree nearby stepped Setthirosa, the usual humor gone from his face. He had a job to do, and he knew what it was.
"You see, I've been following you two for a while. I'm sickened by you. And I think it's time for your love to end."
He held no weapon. He knew that if he needed a gun, he would need the Mahandronis. Neither of his shotguns would be as effective as he needed.
"So. Here's the question. Can true love really withstand the hatred of insanity as well as the power of history's greatest assassin?"

Kathryn leaned close into DarkUmbra's arms and kissed him with the same passion that he had shown her. She admired how the sunlight played on his features and then leaned her head against his and watched the sunrise with him. Her hand found his and she sat there in contentment, where she would remain for the rest of eter . . .
Setthirosa.
The pitch of the man's voice was horrid, and obviously one of a self-loathing being, for anyone with any sense of self at all would have tried to change the tone long ago. Kathryn felt a chill run up and down her spine, and as she came to actually realize what the man was trying to hint at, the chill decided to run the 100 yard olympic dash up and down her spine twice more.
"So. Here's the question. Can true love really withstand the hatred of insanity as well as the power of history's greatest assassin?"
Kathryn was not sure how to even begin to formulate a response. She began a thought, and then stopped herself, and then tried again, decided that wouldn't be a good answer, and then tried once more, but it was no good. She decided to make her point by resolutely pulling herself even closer into DarkUmbra and, her face still next to his, she turned and glared defiantly at the man. "We do not ask for a fight. We have done nothing to harm you, and infact it should be us seeking revenge upon you. But we are not. Now, if you will just let us be, we can allow everything to continue as it should." She spoke calmly, with an even tone but danger was thickly laced through her words. She was in no mood to be toyed with.

Setthirosa shook his head in mock sympathy.
"I used to kill people because I got paid. But if I had a reason to slaughter innocents anymore, I really wouldn't be who I am."
He floated into the air, courtesy of his own independent gravity field. Suddenly, for the second time he could remember, his eyes turned a steely grey, and though he spoke in his own voice, it sounded cool and calm as opposed to angry and quick as it usually was.
[glow=silver,2,300]"Fools. You yourselves have commited no crime. Do not feel that your deaths will be personal. Life, love, joy, hope. These things I will strive to eliminate until no more remains. You just happen to be in the way."[/glow]
Setthirosa shook himself, and when he opened his eyes, they were the normal shocking blue.
Okay, I KNOW that isn't me! What's going on here?
He let no sign of his slight confusion slip, though he knew that Kathryn was psychic. If she wanted to read his mind, that was her buisness. It wasn't like he hadn't assassinated psychics before. He held his arms put to the sides in a half-shrug.
"So. Who's first?"

DarkUmbra released Kathryn's hand. He stood, much taller now then he was before. He was still unused to the mass amounts of rippling fleshy material now covering his body. "Muscles" the humans call them. He felt a strange power flow through him, as he stood between Kathryn and their aggrivator. Feelings stronger then any physical force curreened helplessly through him, unable to be harnessed. Once more, he attempted to summon the surrounding shadows to help him, once again the whips appeared in his hands. He stood, poised, ready to protect that which he lives for. No words could further aid the situation. Fatalism is a must for survival.

Setthirosa landed, and half-closed his eyes. Suddenly, from his right sholder came three cords. They connected at his elbow, and a metal cast began to form around the appendage. In moments, a larg cannon-like gun encased Setthirosa's arm.
"Mahandronis. It has claimed more lives than any plague and caused more injuries than any single type of natural disaster."
He was always proud of those facts. They were more than enough to get him something worse than death, but he didn't care. His face showed restrained contempt.
"I'm going to let you attack first."

DarkUmbra stood; poised, ready for combat.
"I've no reason to attack you. However you apperently do."
He stood and waited, tips of his solid black whips flipping in the breeze.

Setthirosa was in no hurry. He looked down at the Mahandronis, and began tapping a few buttons. It began to whir and click, and in moments, it was glowing brightly and humming. He pointed it at DarkUmbra.
"Well. I think that this will be quite entertaining . . . "
He reaimed it at Kathryn and pulled the trigger.
" . . . for both of us."
A brust of silvery light propelled itself through the air. In the light, an outline of a dragon-like beast could almost be seen as the energy flowed and seared its way towards the girl.

DarkUmbra merely thought it. He had gotten the hang of this body. . . kind of. He reapeared directly in front of the blast. With all his heart he wanted nothing more then to protect Kathryn. He felt this emotion swell within him. In one fantastic burst it was released as a barrier of shadows behind him. It was now between him and Setthirosa, Kathryn was now safe.
He calmly awaited his fate at the charge drew ever nearer. At the last giga-second, he flailed his left whip, the blast shot into the ground. Detonating, the blast took DarkUmbra completely off his feet. He landed limply on the ground. In a death-like sleep. The barrier slowly faded as the dust cleared.

Kathryn watched in a stunned silence, barely opening her mouth to protest towards the mens' antics before something even crazier had occured. Everything seemed to be moving so fast, and the world was spinning in a mess of colors. A few disconnected thoughts sifted their ways into Kathryn's mind as she tried desperatly to sort out the babble around her. She seemed to be picking up different voices as well, for there were more than three in her mind. It was all too much.
I KNOW that wasn't me . . . get the girl . . . would do anything . . . must protect . . .
There was a flash of silver light flying towards her and before she had enough time to even open her mouth, it was gone, and so was DarkUmbra. She stood, though her legs were unsteady and she tried to focus her eyesight so that she could find him.
There was a deep crater in the ground; it seemed that the weapon could do far greater damage than even Kathryn could have predicted. She lay herself down on the ground before the smoke cleared, and reached out with her gift, trying to detect signs of life. She needed to find DarkUmbra, but to be caught by the madman called Setthirosa inbetween would do her no good.
Men. Four. Two north, two west by southwest.
Kathryn grimaced. This should not be happening! Her ability was not known to cause her problems before, but recently that seemed to be all that it was doing! She started to take a deep breath, realized what she was doing, and then set of southwest to find DarkUmbra with her lungs half full of clean air and half full of dust and smoke. She exhaled gently as to not make a scene and continued along until she felt a hand. A human hand. She grabbed on tightly and attempted to find an angle at which she could make certain that it was indeed the one whom she was looking for.

Setthirosa lay on the ground, panting and choking from the detonation. Apparently the energy field he had used had an adverse reaction to shadows. He pressed a few buttons and hoped it was fixed. Suddenly, he felt a hand grab his.
Uh-oh . . .
He closed his eyes and leapt to his feet. As the smoke began to clear, he saw that it was Kathryn. A grin slowly spread across his face as he realized what had happened.
"Shouldn't a psychic be able to tell WHO's mind she's reading? The Mages would be ashamed."
He broke free of her grip and then grabbed her wrist.
"Couldn't have asked for a better situation!"
He swung his right arm, still encased in the Mahandronis, at her head in an attempt to knock her out.

There was so much noise competing for recognition in Kathryn's brain that she didn't even manage to drop Setthirosa's hand once she realized that the hand she was holding belonged to him. The emotion of shock was momentarily recognizable on her face before there seemed to be a large, metal something hurling at her head.
Even in the complete darkness, she was not at peace from the voices tauntings. They called to her, telling her the locations of the four people in the area, though she knew that there were actually only the two. It didn't make any sense.
Men. Four. Two northeast, two west by southwest.
No. Two. One . . . near . . . it was useless. The darkness covering her world in a blanket of black was begining to press in on her and cause the almost complete termination of her mental activity.
Good. Better than thi . . .
And so it ended.

[glow=silver,2,300]Don't kill her. We need her alive.[/glow]
I'm tired of this! Tell me who you are, or I won't listen to you!
[glow=silver,2,300]You don't recognize me? Pity.[/glow]
Setthirosa looked down at the limp form in his arms. He didn't even want to be here. He wanted to be away, far away. And yet here he was. Sighing, the Archarialite picked her up and hoisted her over his sholder. He then called out through the smoke.
"DarkUmbra! If you can hear me, then know that I have killed your beloved."
He knew she was still alive, but it was more fun this way. He turned and began to leave.

Mewie layed on the ground her eyes were a dead brown, tints of gold, her left metal ear was opened, split in half, only joined by a small knob unseen because of Mewies thick, but silky long hair. Cords were attached to her ear,to a silver laptop,as Momo watched patiently, sitting cross legged.
"Hmm..you have a better tracking program, lets see if we can find Kiyowa.."
She hit a key on the laptop, the program connected with the "sleeping" Mewie and started to search. Momo sighed as she twisted her pink curly pigtail around and around her little fingers, waiting.
She remembered something that Mewie had said before she went into her trance like state. . ***
Mewie was taking off her knee high boots, thinking over the kill she had made near that bar in that large city. She then looked at Momo, who was looking out into the distance, chin cupped in her hand.
"Momo?" Momo turned to smile happily at Mewie, she was very much different from her Boss, who only pretended to be sweet and hyper, while Momo actually was. "Yes Mewie-san?" Mewie blinked, though not needing too. "After we finish our mission,we know that..this isn't who we really are. I want to start..a pilgrimage to the past, yours and mine, with you."
The wind blew Mewies long silver hair, like spider web getting untangled from twigs. Momo sat there, eyes wide. To find out who we both really are..to start..a pilgrimage to the past.. She then giggled and nodded. "Yes!!I would love to know..who we both are.
