The grassy knoll really didn't know what was going on. It was an unconsious being, it didn't really matter to it what happened. So it didn't notice when a whirling wind tunnel blasted over it, stripped it of its plants, tore the skin off small animals, and ultimately shredded it to bits.
Mahandronis looked at the smoldering tip of his gun. It didn't bother him that he'd just wiped out thousands of living organisms. All that bothered him was that his gun's reaction time was slowing.
[glow=silver,2,300]It's generally hard to find people who can repair Relics. I'll eat the loss on speed until I can get to a place where I can fix it. Setthirosa was smart, I should be able to figure it out between his brilliance and mine.[/glow]
He crouched in the dirty pit he had created. Taking a bit of dirt, he placed it in his mouth and chewed slowly.
[glow=silver,2,300]Traces of zinc, iron, silicon, calcium. Odd. Perhaps something died here . . .[/glow]
He stood and spat out the dirt. Looking up, he saw it was raining lightly. Smiling, he spun the dial on his gun again and fired.
A bolt of lightning seared through the air and electrocuted everything within twenty feet of him. He saw insects, birds, and even small mammals fry and crash to the ground. He himself was unharmed, and grinned at the small ground wire that had shot off of his gun into the soil as he fired. The Relic knew what needed to be done to survive when he was as dangerous as he was.
