Feldspar peeked out of his escape pod and felt the icy winds stab at his face.
"Man, it's a good thing that ive got my flight suit on, its freezing here."
Then he remembered the past few weeks of his life spent drifting through space, and the tumultous descent following it. The F'istari looked around him. He couldnt see the bottoms of the mountains or the surrounding lands, as he was above the cloud line.
"Where am i?"

Longshanks pressed the stud that opened the hatch of his lifeboat and stared at the mountain side below him,, stoically ignoring the icy wind and the flurries of snow swirling into the interior of his ship. Remembering his encounter with the man in blue, he decided that he would not leave his ship in orbit, just in case his wings were again wrecked and unable to grant him flight any longer, and therefore, returning to the helm, piloted it down to a spot on the mountain far above the escape pod.
Exiting through the opened hatch, which hissed shut behind him, Longshanks began the long hike down to the small pod. He wrapped his wings about him to keep the cold from penetrating his body too deeply and halted his descent several yards above the pod to await its openig. He had detected its approach using his ship's sensors, and though it did not appear Cython in design, Longshanks had to be certain that the occupant was indeed not insectoid.
When the hatch of the small pod finally opened, Longshanks tensed slightly, grasping his disruptor pistol tightly; best to be wary. However, when the Orion felt the emotions of the pod's single occupant, an elation to be free followed by curious wonderment, he relaxed. Cython had no emotions; this could be no Cython. CLimbing down further, to stand before the hatch in full view, Longshanks answered the question that had been voiced.
"You are on the planet known as Fyia." Longshanks bowed slightly in greeting. "I am Llafrodedd Angantirr, though I prefer to go by Longshanks. Who might you be, and might I be of any assistance?

Feldspar looked dumbly at the tall figure of the Orioninian (what is an orion person called anyway?). He was still shooken from the impact and hadnt quite regained his bearings, not that they would have helped him much on this strange planet. Wow does everyone here look like this...man?"...Ro, jun...j'hi'kai li'nai pooten'rau mis'sar. Ti hu'taru ju Feldspar Valkyrion on tu mees'aru jopen h'ogenslaat!" He studied the orinians (there is that it?) face for any sign of understanding. Instead of understanding he found complete dumbfoundedness. Hmm...maybe I should try a dialect of men, if this is such a man."M-m...nem is...Feldspar Valkyrion. I...are...a F'istari. I...am...want...Homeship. Where...near city?" Again Feldspar looked up at the guy, hoping that he understood that. wow I got pretty rusty at my human. Im gonna hafta work on that soon. I hope he understood that I want to go home and i need to get to the nearest city ( )

((Please forgive me for this, but Feldspar should say "Feldspar phone home"; err, sorry, bad joke. And natives of Orion are called simply "Orions" ))
The first words that emerged from the being's lips were a garble of nonsensical sounds to Longshanks, and he arched an eyebrow (though the expression was hidden beneath his bangs) and scratched his reddish beard. He thought sardonically that he might have just a few communication problems when suddenly the alien spoke again.
"M-m...nem is...Feldspar Valkyrion. I...are...a F'istari. I...am...want...Homeship. Where...near city?"
Though accents, grammar, and sounds were askew, overall Longshanks thought that he got the gist of the words. "Feldsparr, eh? F'istari? I haven't ever heard of them. And I don't know what a Homeship might be; I happen to doubt there might be any at all nigh. However, I do know that there is a city quite near, by name of Corvitan, I believe. Are you in need of transportation? I can provide it, if you are; my ship is set down just up the mountain." He gestured up the mountain towards where his ship was with one long arm.

((ya...that was pretty dumb. But I forgive u since ur saving me))
Knowing that body language would be better understood than verbal communication, Feldspar quickly bowed before nimbly jumping over the side of his vessel.
"Fellow...f-fellow you"
He then made a quick "after you" motion with his delicate hands before returning them to his pockets. He was shivering noticably.
By K'il Rith'igath it's cold here!

Observing Feldsparr's actions and listening closely to his words, Longshanks figured that the alien had understood at least the part of his own words about transportation and that Feldsparr wanted the Orion to lead him. Or at least he hoped that's what was implied. Body language composed a large part of any sentient species' languages yet discovered by the Orion race, and there was always the possiblity that any actoin could convey the wrong meaning; Longshanks hated it when dealing with beings he had never encountered before in fear that he might inadvertently say something stupid through some inane gesture. But it was no use second guessing himself about how to act, and furthermore, this creature seemed to possess (sp?) similar body language to humans, which Longshanks undertood well enough. Therefore, motioning for Feldsparr to follow with a wave of one of his hands (he had been about to use his wing, out of habit, but the possibility of inadvertently upsetting Feldsparr through the action prevented him), the Orion turned and ventured back up the slopes in the direction of his ship.

Octavian crouched low on a slightly beaten path, waiting for...nothing. He looked up as his acute hearing caught distinct crushing coming from a distance up ahead. He adjusted his thermal goggles to peer deeper into the driving snowstorm and made out two figures approaching from 56.9483 feet to the north. People? Here? Interesting... He stood up, his 7'5" frame should be visible from the two men's distance by now...

Feldspar was following the Orion closely, using his huge frame as a shield from the sheer winds and driving snow.
Then, a tall figure seemed to materialize ahead of them, about 56.9483 he guessed. He placed a hand on the orion's shoulder and pulled out his pistol.
"What you make...out be?"

He looked anxiously up to Longshanks, but he seemed to make no move. Cooly, Feldspar leveled his pistol at the form. "W-who gus thir" ((thats "who goes there" )) He could take him out now, right in the forehead, between the eyes . But he wasn't sure yet what this beings intentions were. He didn't want to start off his adventure on this world with a cold-blooded murder.

Longshanks stood still except for his wings, which he spread out to their maximum span. He hoped that this instinctual tactic often employed by animals to intimidate foes would prove useful even for sentient beings, perhaps causing him to appear even more impressive. He didn't think that the newcomer had hostile intentions--it's only feelings currently were mostly curiosity, Longshanks assumed about himself and Feldsparr--but Feldsparr seemed wary, and it might prove useful to be cautious.
Following Feldsparr's example, Longshanks withdrew his diruptor pistol from his pocket, aiming it nonchalantly in the direction of the newcomer. "Who might you be?" he called over the wind.

Feldspar looked up apprehensively at his Orion companion.
"Acts strange...wat we do?"
Although the situation was precarious Feldspar kept his trademark level-headedness...well it was trademark among his people. This was a strange new world, however, and he'd have to make his reputation again from anew. Nonchalantly, he strided through the knee-deep snow towards the figure. Pulling out his combat blade, he pointed the pistol at the man.
"Speak! Now speak or me...f-fire!"

"I'm not entirely certain what to do," Longshanks admitted to Feldsparr as he strode up behind him, scrutinizing the being before him. It had called itself "X"? In answering Feldsparr's question, however, Longshanks noted that the creature did not speak in any tongue the Orion knew, but rather in one similar--or perhaps identical--to the one that Feldsparr had originally spoken in. Glancing sideways at his companion, Longshanks then turned to address X: "Please, either tell me what you just said in a language I can understand, or speak in one all here can comprehend."
