A dark figure walked through the blizzarding weather. Searching for nothing in particular he calmly paced through the snow. Where was he going? What was he doing? What was his purpose? At the moment, all was a blank. However what a better place to find oneself then in nice weather? A mamal of the snow approached, clearly looking for his next meal. He crawled low, looking for the moment to strike. He lept. His claws flailing, hitting nothing but air, as his intended prey had vanished. Suddenly, a black whip struck the creature squarely between the shoulders, and it collapsed to the ground, life sucked from its corpse. And behind him, whips flapping in the wind, stood DarkUmbra.
The shadow-being knelt down, and began to pray for the deceased creature. Survival of the fittest at its best. The death of one shall feed another and all that sort of rot. After everthing had ended, DarkUmbra walked and knelt by the creature, and feasted upon the luscious meat provided.
"Thank you creature."
He muttered. He once again stood, but realized it was futile, and sat and began to meditate.

Kruck sheilded himself against the bitter wind. He was not well-equipped for such weather, as his trenchcoat, though rather large, was made to be sufficient in cool and warm weather, not in altogether cold conditions. In addition, the wind added more cold to the Frozen mountains. This was definitly not somewhere you wanted to find yourself ill-prepared at.
But none of this mattered now. Nay, what was important was to get out of this place with his life. He passed by a dark figure sitting in the snow, not noticing the shadow-creature for it was already dark, and the falling snow made it even harder to see. And so Kruck stumbled through the thick fall of freezing cold snow, looking for any kind of shelther to protect him from this wretched snow and bitter wind.

The figure stood from his seat in the snow. He scanned the surrounding area with his new-found oculatory devices. He saw the one called Kruck stumbling blindly through the banks of frozen water in crystal form. He knew he had sensed someone he knew. But what was his old friend and ally doing here? Apperently at the moment, trying to get dead.
"Hoy! Kruck! What are you doing in the frozen wasteland that has claimed so many a life of the unready? Quickly, follow me if you wish to cling to what meager existence you have now!"
DarkUmbra grabbed Kruck and scurried over to the side of the mountain. He fell prone and began scampering through a small hole in the ice, only to reveal a cavern of sorts, almost completely concealed and protected from the harsh conditions of the outside.

In a large cave, hidden from the battering of the elements, a short man in a blue trenchcoat leaned against a wall. He would have appeared comical but for the calculating, cold look in his eyes and the gun in his hand. Quickly and efficiantly, he popped a cartridge out of the back of it and replaced it with another one, proclaming warning messages in some distant land's language. He snapped the weapon together and smiled. One with powerful shots, one with rapid fire. Ought to make for an interesting battle, should he need them.
He swung his tail and accidentally hit the cave wall. Curses. He wasn't used to the extra-long limb yet, and was still irked by the lack of wings. It didn't prohibit him from flying, but it did make life less impressive. Of course, it wasn't life's purpose to be impressive. He knew that better than most . . .
The man glanced up as a familiar creature strode through the entrance to the cave. Though he smirked, he could feel a twinge in his right arm. He had not forgotten what had happened when Setthirosa had last encountered this thing . . .
But he wasn't Setthirosa. Setthirosa was dead, just a memory, with only his body still alive, haunting the planet even after its soul had been wiped from the slate of existance for all eternity. Now, he was something better, without that meddling creature in the way, worrying about what to do next. Worrying worked just as poorly as reacting; anticipation was key.
He spoke quietly with his head tilted down, but his voice was full of hateful amusement and his eyes glittered with malice.
[glow=silver,2,300]"So . . . DarkUmbra survives. Tell me, how long did you think you could keep yourself hidden from me?"[/glow]

The black figure calmly turned around. His immediate guest would have to wait, as it appeared that one wished to harm him. He had sensed this presence before, he knew this being, however, this was not Setthirosa. What was it about this person that felt so similar? It obviously wasn't the person itself, as he had no idea who this new person was. Whatever the being's form of existence, it was clear that its energy was negative, and it wished to harm him.
"I do not wish for combat."
DarkUmbra said calmly.
"Isn't there perhaps a method of resolvement other then brutality?"

Mahandronis shook his head, more in amusement than as a negative response. He wondered what was going through this creature's mind.
[glow=silver,2,300]"No. There is not. You can postpone violence if you want, maybe even out of your lifetime. I suppose that you can just hope that I'll go away, like all the generations of creatures preceeding you have since the beginning of time. But I won't. Eventually, we'll be in a position to get what we want. And when we are, there will be no diplomacy, only bloodshed. I have flare for the dramatic that some of my bretheren lack, and so I thought you might like a chance to stop me. But if you don't, that is acceptable . . ."[/glow]
The Relic smiled. Not much worried him, and certainly not DarkUmbra. But he did wonder what the response of the creature would be.
[glow=silver,2,300]"Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. I am Mahandronis. It was I who made Setthirosa do what he did, and it was I who killed him and took his body. He didn't even want to hurt you and Kathryn, even. And when he refused to, I had to get rid of him."[/glow]
He leaned against the wall. Life was so much less complicated when there wasn't any . . .
