Greetings Fyians, one and all! DP here, posting this here topic to discuss some important matters relating to the operation of our site. As I'm sure we are all aware, Fyia has been as active as insects drowning in a mud puddle. Apart from the always-faithful Raven (to whom I would like to offer thanks for sticking with Fyia even moreso than myself), few people are posting as of late.
There are several reasons for this. A major one is that the site used to take forever to load for some inexplicable reason. Fortunately, JKrew has identified the problem and for the most part, eliminate it. Despite that Fyia still takes between half a minute to a minute or two to load (for me anyways), it's much improved.
However, other problems persist. The main one is that there is simply no actual role playing going on to speak of. There are several reasons. The main one, I'm sure, is normal life and school. I know AP History sure is crunching away countless hours of my life. But there is another explanation. Fyia just doesn't have anything interesting occuring at the moment to hold peoples' interest enough to make them want to come back on a frequent basis. We need action.
Fortunately, I'm certain we can pick things up again. The great thing about Fyia is that it possesses a quality all the Ria sites (except for the Ria High guild on Gaia) lacked- it has the ability to rise and fall like an economy. Ria 2 and 3 were all active for bursts of activity, but once the initial thrill had passed, the sites up and died. Fyia on the other hand lives on a more roller coaster experience, as opposed to diving off a cliff, final-thrill-of-your-fleeting-life sort of experience. While Fyia hasn't had as much favor with the Ria veterans as the Rias, its biorhythm keeps it fluxuating up and down. Put simply, Fyia gets inactive a lot, but it always rebounds again.
Having written a long analytical post, I ought to get to point right about now.
The point is, what are we going to do to bring Fyia back into the spotlight again? I'm putting up this thread so that we can all collaborate by putting our heads together on ideas and then put them into action. Obviously, we need rp threads in general, but there's more to it than just that.
So feel free to drop off your thoughts and opinions on the matter.
